    Hello. Do you know that the Vdash was showing the WRONG injector order in that picture? I have already opened a claim and told them that they messed up the injector order for these PSA engine. They admitted it was wrong and in a past release, they corrected the order (1 cylinder near the gearbox, 4th near the timing). You shoud check this by removing an injector connector and see what code appears (for which cylinder)

      Thanks for letting me know. I think I respected the order in the picture and if I recall correctly this was the right order (I did disconnect an injector prior to filming to find out about the order). I've contacted vdash as well and asked for more info and will check the codings. Thanks again!

      Hi Zeno, I've checked the footage again from the first episode and this one. If you look closely you can see injector 3 (the one that was replaced) has a plastic clip attached to its fuel pipe, the garage put it there to avoid the screw dropping down along the pipe. Its code is visible and is A8FHHH. At 9:27 you can see the old codes prior to coding the new ones and injector 3 is exactly A8FHHH. So it seems the order is correct. Are we talking about the same engine? D4162T? There is a similar engine 1.6D in the previous generation.

    Hi, I did the same jobb in my volvo v50 2006, you can allways save your old DPF and clean it with 5ltr. cane of dpf cleaner ans save it for the next swap.

    Hi there I have VIDA, and wanted to adapt my injectors too, but ‘Software support for Adaption data’ is not approved, did you run into this issue? It appears to allow me to reset adaptation all the circles go green, but for the adaptation of injectors no values are shown and the circle remains yellow. Is there something else you have to do to get it to start? Or is this likely due to the software not allowed. Thanks

      Hi, you can't use VIDA for this one, only an approved version at the dealer can. But you can use Vdash, it's also not free but fairly cheap (about €30 I believe) and then you have 24h of coding support through Vdash.

      Sorry I misread your comment. You are trying to do the adaption and test drive after the coding right? You should be able to do the test drive + adaption. I don't remember the exact process but once you accelerate until 90 km/h in 4th and let the pedal go and let the car coast then the circle goes green. You do this a couple of times and then it's happy. But my values stayed at 0, which is quite normal since the codes on the injectors should be accurate so I'm not sure if this step is really all that useful... I don't remember where this procedure is located in VIDA but if you follow the injector R&R in VIDA it has a shortcut to the right place.

      @@patchnplay Thank you again for the reply. I think maybe I can’t do this in VIDA without software 30743234. Which unless your a registered business you can’t purchase. The adaptation process lives - Diagnostics - Vehicle Communications - Advanced - Checking and resetting the adaption for injectors. I can only reset the adaption but can’t do the test drive. Status remains ‘--‘. And the circle is yellow throughout. I can see in your video the circles are red, and you have a status reading. Unfortunately that’s not the case my end. I guess I need the software on the ECM to allow the adaptation drive to be accessible. Keep up the good work, enjoying the videos!

      @@matthewchallis8827 thanks mate. Hmmm maybe you need another copy of the vida virtual machine? I gotta say I'm not an expert but I wouldn't sweat it. If the car feels good and the codes are in there then it will self adapt along the way

    Normally on the volvo d4162t engine you only need to reset the fuel adoption not like ford focus pergoet, citroen, then it will put itself through a learning process ,I've never coded a fuel injectors and mines runs smoothly,

      I've heard similar stories yes, but I guess it depends how far off your new injectors are from the old ones. I can understand the adaption process will compensate for a mismatch in codes but as you could see, coding the injectors is quite easy and made a difference from the start.

    Could you please help me with a problem I have with a 2006 2.0ltr Volvo v50 estate?? The car will start when cold like in the morning and I could it drive all day no problem non stop. When I then stop the car switch it off then try to start again it will not start or will start then stops be itself very soon. Seem like a fuel Issue to me

      Thanks for pointing that out. I actually never considered it to be bad. But to be clear: I normally use normal car shampoo or car shampoo with wax for cleaning my car and the van. It seems it *can* be used to get a deep clean of the paint and take any wax off prior to paint correction, like in this case. But I'll admit there's probably better products suited for this purpose and it might be too agressive.

    Awesome of you to share your work on this car :-D I have a Volvo V50 1,6D D4164T (2005) that I’m trying to “save” and make it last as long as possible :-D with your videos showing the process I find super useful info of what to inspect on my own V50 :-D And since I’m far from a professional mechanic myself your explanations helps me actually understand what I’m doing and why :-D Again, thank you a lot for sharing the journey:-D

    For bumbers there is bumper specific plastic primer that would most likely help with black coat sticking to the paint. If you dont care about the OEM bumper pitting i'd also use sth like 180-320 sandpaper on whole bumper before applying primer and base coat, so it lasts even longer. Proper way would probably also be using matte 2k clear coat or even glossy one if you prefer the glossy finish. it has to be 2k one for uv resistance and strength though.

      Thanks for your advice. Yes I might give it another go with primer first this time. I'm not sure what sanding might do as the plastic itself has a rough texture on its own. 2k clear coat definetly will protect it better but the first layer of course has to stick well to the plastic in the first place. Again, appreciate the advice!

      When I first started working on cars a few years ago, I wouldn't go under. Up until I had no other choice like for this repair. Now I'm more comfortable but I do put multiple supports, at least 2 and add the wheel as an extra precaution.

    I made the same mistake with the bearings it all fell apart and I lost some of the needles 😅 Now I’m waiting for a replacement tripod too arrive hopefully it will fit, it’s aftermarket as Volvo would only sell me a complete axle at a very reasonable price of course

      Yes, Volvo is known for its extremely reasonable priced parts at the dealer's 😂. Yeah that sucks if you lost some of them. I was very happy I was doing this job together with Alex because I thought the tripod was finished...

      @@eb3ha4dl if I recall correctly they're kept in place by a plastic ring that wears out. But they can't come apart while they're in the joint, even without the plastic retainer. But yeah,.pretty weird I only had it on one of those bearings

      Echt? Want deze had ik onder andere al bekeken maar er staat het volgende bij: These products do not have ECE approval and must not be used on public roads in any exterior application. Public roads use leads to cancellation of operating license and loss of insurance coverage. Heb jij ze zonder issues door de keuring gekregen? Ik heb de LED Night Breaker ook bekeken van Osram, voor mijn camper, want Volvo staat niet in de lijst van goedgekeurde voertuigen...

    Came to the part where you partially removed the axle. Tip: You are creating to yourself a bunch of extra work! Much easier to remove it entirely than work it on the workbench. On and off as a unit. ;-)

      Yes, I agree. I think I mentioned it later in the video. It's easier to put back together on the bench but initially it seemed like a good idea...

      With a bit of fiddling you can get it out. my cover was already ripped thanks to the butchers at the dealership that replaced injector 3 a few years back...

    Thanks! What a great video! I'm in the same situation myself right now with my Volvo S40 D2 (same engine as yours-D4162T). Injector 3 got a short circuit (error code - P1263-cylinder 3 high to low side short) and now I'm about to replace all four of them. I've already purchase four new PSA injectors since the original ones are ridiculously high priced. I'm a bit worried if the ECU will accept those injector's codes, as I haven't found any reference regarding PSA injectors on a Volvo's ECU yet.

      Thanks! My dad used to drive an S80 20 years ago as a successor to his bmw 5-series. It is a great luxury response from the swedish to the German premiums from that time. Nice car, I hope you'll enjoy it!

      Als je naar de url van ons kanaal gaat www.youtube.com/@patchnplay en je gaat naar de About (pijltje naast de introtekst) dan zou je m'n emailadres moeten te zien krijgen. Sorry, ik ga het hier niet plakken anders krijg ik weer massa's spam... Ik heb het gisteren nog even nagekeken voor de lichten want ik zou dat ook wel willen aanpassen. Daarvoor moet je eerst de PIN decoderen (kan tot 24u duren) met een laptop + auto aan lader. En volgens de prijslijst van VDash zou het daarna 47 euro kosten, en niet 150 zoals ik eerst dacht, maar 100% zeker ben ik daar niet van want die gasten zijn allesbehalve transparant. Ik weet dat ze in NL samenwerken met Obbetuning, daarvan kreeg ik toch de factuur toen ik de injectoren programmeerde met VDash.

      @@daki9198 roetaanslag op de turbo en op de hitteschilden. ik zag het meteen aan de onderkant van de plastic cover.

    The dead injector was probably the root cause of your DPF problem, if the engine kept sooting up and the ECU kept trying to regenerate the filter, it means the filter would overheat and crack or melt.

    Ik heb de injectoren op mijn D2 ook gewisseld en eigenlijk zou je inderdaad de brandstofleiding moeten wisselen, want anders krijg je mogelijk dieseldampen in de motorruimte. Maar ik heb nergens de leidingen los verkrijgbaar kunnen vinden. Aandraaimoment voor de injector-bouten is 4 Newtonmeter volgens het boekje, maar dat is in de praktijk veel te weinig...

      Jep dat leek mij ook heel weinig. De brandstofleiding heb ik nog wel apart gevonden maar is best wel duur, dacht 70€ per stuk. Nu, ondertussen zijn we bijna een jaar verder sinds het filmen en alles lijkt nog perfect in orde.

      @@patchnplayhey sorry voor het laten antwoord het is gelukt met de roetfilter maar wil je toch even en mailtje sturen als het mogelijk is om met jullie vida mijn lampen op stand 0 volledig uit te zetten blijkbaar gaat dat met vida😀

      @@daki9198 hey, top dat het gelukt is! Let op dat je geen lek in de uitlaat tussen turbo en filter hebt, dat was bij mij het geval en heb ik nog moeten fixen. Dat van die lichten uitzetten heb ik ook gezocht. Dat kan enkel via vdash, niet via vida, tenzij je een dealer bent en de optie in die software aankoopt. In vdash kost het wel iets van een 150€..

      Yes it's a known problem with the injectors. It seems they are quite sensitive to fuel quality...

    18 or 80 euro to program the injectors? And you are running both vdash as well as vida software? I thought the latter is proprietairy to Volvo dealers only?

      It think it was 10 euro for the subscription, and an additional 15 euro to buy 24h of injector programming... Yeah well, propietary... you can find both VIDA2014 or a VM with everything preinstalled on the internet. VIDA is now a SaaS product so the later versions are indeed Volvo-dealer only (or you have to pay a lot). At least my Volvo dealer was like "if you have VIDA yourself you can blabla..." So it seems quite common for hobbyists to have a copy of VIDA and a cheap interface. If I'm not mistaken VDash can do most things too but apart from programming the injectors I didn't use it a lot yet.

      Dag Vincent, je vindt de installatiestappen in de Volvo VIDA software. Ik kan je helaas geen print doorsturen momenteel omdat ik de laptop met deze software momenteel niet heb. Kan er pas in de week van 1 mei weer aan. Op zich is het vrij voor de hand liggend dus ik kan je wel helpen met specifieke vragen...

      @@patchnplay I had injector max value issues. Then I’ve changed all my injectors with original and brand new. All the vibrations and other knocking sounds gone. But still O face problem with my driving, the engine vibrates on second and above gears, and only at 1700-2000 rpm’s while accelerating. Only vibrates when the engine hot. When it cold, it’s very smooth. I suspect turbo selenoid but I am nor sure. Car has no any error code. Btw, I suggest you to use new generation injectors. Siemens revised the injector model on 2014. New injectors are 8680 (last four digits of model code) cars come with 3080 which is more sensitive than 8680.

      @@devrimarabalari I've got 3 new injectors from VDO Continental which have both model codes, as one was still good, was replaced only 40k km ago. Weird with your vibrations. Engine mounts? Maybe knocking? Hard to say...
